Boilers

Boiler servicing

A faulty boiler can be extremely dangerous, increasing the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Although there is no hard rule about how often you should get your boiler serviced, it is recommended that a full annual service is carried out and most boiler manufacturers will insist on this in order to maintain the warranty. The older the boiler, the greater the need for regular servicing.

High efficiency boilers

Since April 2005 your new boiler must, by law, be a high efficiency boiler or condensing boiler. This is a boiler that recovers heat that would otherwise be wasted and uses it to improve the boiler’s heating efficiency.High efficiency or condensing boilers (they are the same thing) have a heat exchanger that uses heat in the flue gasses to pre-heat the water. (They are called condensing boilers because most of the heat recovered comes from condensing water vapour in the flue gasses.) The condensed water is drained away and much less energy is required to raise the temperature of the preheated circulating water to the desired level.Whether it’s a new installation or a replacement for an old inefficient boiler the team at Young Plumbing can take care of every aspect, minimising the disruption to you so contact us today for your free no-obligation estimate.
